Svetovni Kickboxing Forum V Ženevi se v letu 2010 sestanejo predstavniki največjih mednarodnih kikbox zvez in se dogovarjajo o poenotenju športa pod enim imenom in enim tekmovalnim sistemom: Vir: http://www.championspantheon.com/index.php/fr/component/content/article/1-latest-news/65-1er-forum-mondial-du-kickboxing-un-succes A page has been written in the history books of Kickboxing in Geneva 20 predstavnikov različnih svetovnih kikbox verzij se sreča pod isto streho in spregovori o napredku kickbox športa. (Carl Emery) For the first time in the history of Kickboxing (n.b. the estimated birth date of modern kickboxing at the first world championships at PKA Long Beach (USA) in September 1974), that all world federations came together under the same roof thanks to the renowned former champion who has become a true icon of the sport, the Swiss national Carl EMERY. He has now turned his attentions to the promotion and management of fighters, but has nonetheless remained involved in the defense of martial arts in general and combat sports in particular. Indeed, after having created an association to defend the ethics of the sport, the PANTHEON OF SPORTS AND MARTIAL ARTS, Carl Emery has established a committee to bring together the different federations governing Kickboxing globally, in order to achieve consistency and homogeneity. The ultimate goal is that a single world federation manages Kickboxing. He was assisted in this difficult task by two widely recognised personalities in the sport, the Italian Carlo DI BLASI and Dutchman Fred ROYER. For over 35 years, everyone has been struggling with the proposed merger of federations and many observers felt it was a lost cause and did not expect to one day see a single federation manage Kickboxing. They underestimated the determination and selflessness of Carl EMERY. The Geneva born champion and his colleagues Carlo Di Blasi and Fred Royers, have been able to intelligently manoeuvre all decision makers in the sport deign to meet the through the animosities that divide them, this weekend in Geneva, so that the sport is evolving and moving towards unification. Well, it’s done! Indeed, after this first global forum in the history of kickboxing (KICKBOXING WORLD FORUM), the federations present agreed on the following points:
It is clear that as regards the establishment of common database and a single world championship, all federations have given their consent, except the WAKO who called for a time of reflection for ratification in order to know what these changes would involve. The Pantheon of Sports and Martial Arts wrote a page in the history books of Kickboxing this weekend in Geneva under the leadership of Carl EMERY, Carlo DI BLASI, Fred ROYER and all world leaders. These leaders have proven that it was time to change attitudes and practices that have clearly shown their limits. Now is the time for dialogue, consultation and compromise for the greater good of those who should at all times be at centre stage, the Athletes!
